Army: Suspect Said `Allah Akbar!' Before Shooting

The base commander at Fort Hood says soldiers who witnessed a shooting rampage that left 13 people dead reported that the gunman shouted "Allah Akbar!" before opening fire at the Texas post.

Lt. Gen. Robert Cone told NBC's "Today" show on Friday that suspected shooter, Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan, made the comment, which is Arabic for "God is great!" before the rampage Thursday that also left 30 people wounded.

Military officials say they are still piecing together what may have pushed Hasan, an Army psychiatrist trained to help soldiers in distress, to turn on his comrades.

Guy yells the universal suicide bomber phrase just before he starts shooting, and yet we have people, even our revered President, trying to say he was just stressed out over the plan to deploy him to some base hospital in Afghanistan or Iraq?

Say what you want about Bush II, we had NONE OF THIS for 8 years, now not even a year into Nobamma's tour of duty we have 13 dead soldiers in TEXAS and a Muslim extremist nutjob Army major as a "suspect" after the cops knocked his terrorist ass down. Too bad the cops didn't go for a head shot either first round or fifth. So how many more terrorist moles do we still need to dig out of the armed forces, and how do we do that with Mr. Political Correctness in Chief resisting even admitting there's a problem while he hides in the White House with our soldiers' patriot blood on his damned candy assed hands?

OK, so now I'm REALLY ticked off. Eyeshot mentions there are around 12,000 muslims in the US Military, same time I'm reading they've established that this Major at Hood worshipped at the same mosque in Virginia as some of the 911 hijackers, so I'm wondering what ever became of my beloved Army CID guys who used to be able to catch regular GIs at every little thing they tried to get away with, down to pilfering a few messhall steaks for a weekend barbeque. Does NOBODY in any security service know how to do their jobs anymore? I don't think even the Obomatons could have mucked up everything this fast, have to assume we've got even worse messes out there waiting to flare up if somebody doesn't get on the damned ball right quick. I'd hate to see anyone else die from Political Correctness in this country, especially the hard chargers we need to kick some terrorist ass now and again. Just because someone is a Muslim does not make them a terrorist just like being a Christian does not make you an abortion clinic bomber. 8 years ago, we weren't at war with the middle east and as I recall there were some shootings involving american soldiers killing american soldiers over in Iraq while Bush was in office. This guy was active military the whole time Bush was in office. To blame Obama for this is just plain stupid. When someone says they don't want to go to Iraq, maybe someone should give them a psyciatric evaluation to try to find out why and determine if the soldier should be discharged rather than just assuming the person is a coward and sending them anyhow.

Saying the guy is a terrorist simply because he is muslim is baseless.

Candidate for most nauseating response so far, Chicago Mayor Daley, who blamed it all on the easy access to guns in the USA, like access to guns on an Army base has anything to do with anything. Better he should blame Bill Clinton, whose administration placed major new RESTRICTIONS on carrying firearms on all US bases. If any of the hundreds of soldiers the TERRORIST fired upon at fort Hood had been allowed to carry their own issue firearms like the police are allowed to do when off duty, then this TERRORIST would have been DOA before gettting of more than a few rounds. As usual Daly and his ilk have it exactly BACKWARDS. Let our military go armed when in uniform, anywhere, nationwide, and see how fast this reign of TERROR gets shut down. We used to have this privilege when most of us were in uniform, and my experience was that in whatever theater you were deployed everyone was pretty polite to a GI carrying an issue .45 or 9mm Beretta. amazing what the possibility of armed response has on otherwise unruly citizens of most any country.
