ASSA in Field and Stream Magazine

Postby jjas on Sun Oct 18, 2009 12:43 pm

For those who may not have seen it, the November 2009 issue features a nice article on the ASSA.

It's written by Phil Bourjaily and mentions the current record holder and the winners of both the September nationals and ASSA-NRA Summer Shoot(s).

Congrats to the site owners and the shooters mentioned!

About time these guys got some recognition for the work they do! Only problem is none of the stores around me carry F&S anymore, what with alll the whiners who complain about anything to do with guns, hunting, fishing, walking in the woods (stalking joggers, to them) so I guess I'm going to have to drive out to a gun store 100 miles away or wait for the article to get posted online in a month or two. Modern society bites, now that all the effing yuppies are running things. Like waking up one morning to find your home is now owned by the cockroaches you used to kill under the kitchen sink........

THEY MENTIONED ME IN THE FIELD AND STREAM!!!!! ME!! ME!! NOBODY NEVER MENTIONED ME IN ANY MAGAZINE NOWHERE NEVER BEFORE!!!! ME!! ME!! SLUGGER TWO IS FREAKING FAMOUS!! YEEEHHAAAHHH!!!

OK, now that's over with, I agree with Brush Hunter (Who was NOT Mentioned in the Field and Stream) it is about time somebody FINALLY gave ASSA some credit for 6 years of catering to us wild pandas in the slugshooting arena. That Phil guy (cain't spell his last name) really knows his sh** and looks like being not a bad shot either. Anyways, now that I'm all calmed down YEEEEEHAAAAH!!! here's a link where you can go and download the whole magazine for free, then just save out the page 25 and 26 where the ASSA article is, and they mention ME in the competition winners listing (Not you Brush Hunter, just ME and some other winners, not like you LOSERS, hahahahahahaha!!! ROFLMAO!!)

Somebody want to tell the ASSA guys they're famous now? I don't think they even know yet!

I gotta go on over to the Kinkos in town now and get me a wall size print of My Field and Stream page for the back wall of my gun room, and maybe buy a dozen or three copies of the magazine to pass out to all my pals down to the club, especially the ones who don't do slug shooting because "it's not a real sport" ......Efff them, the losers.

SluggerTwo, you just kill me! So they mentioned your name, so don't get totally nuts about it. You put up that link to the F&S and I've gotta tell you it works, if you have about an hour to wait for the download to get done. Never figured you for being that patient, slugger. Thought you were more of a minuteman type. Anyway, for the members who can't get their own copy of the magazine, I went through the hassle to clip the article and make it into a couple picture files, so you can kind of see the article right now, right here. sizing is not quite right because the forum here won't let me post a huge PIC. Don't let having this blurry version keep you from going to the store and BUYING the magazine, so you can read the article over and over and bask in the glory of US making it to a national magazine.(I'm figuring SluggerTwo is going to bask himself about half to death.) Let's not rip them off just because we can. ASSA guys and gals are not like that, right? We can pony up a few bucks to support a magazine that is helping us, right? Anyway, here's the article, 2 pages as JPEGs:

Yah, Brush Hunter, you're just sorry they didn't mention YOU in the article. I bought every copy in town, and put one in plastic to keep grubby hands off it. Waiting for the BIG print to put on the wall. Still waiting to hear some announcement here about the thousands of new members that joined on account of this.

Don't know about thousands, but I just joined after reading the F&S article all the way out here in Nebraska. I'm thinking about going after the gun giveaway competition next time around, and hoping there aren't going to be thousands of shooters up against me. Pretty sure I can outgun you, Sluggertwo, so you won't be winning another USH for your collection, I'm hoping.
I might LOOK like a farmer, but I only play one on 2,000 acres.
